The shoulder strap is very useful. Or it's small enough to fit into quite a small rucksack. The only down-side is that it doesn't lock automatically into the high position (& I only need the high position for sitting on). You have to really make sure that it's going to stay firmly interlocked, by checking that all the parts have gone to their right place. Otherwise, you get an unexpected shock when you sit down!
